ABOUT TOP MODEL

Hosted by supermodel Sarah Murdoch, AUSTRALIA’S NEXT TOP MODEL is FOX8’s hit reality series that follows a group of young women as they try to prove they have what it takes to make it in the high-stress, high-stakes world of modelling.

After a nationwide audition tour earlier this year, which saw thousands of wannabe models apply across the country, 16 young hopefuls, the biggest cast ever, were selected to star in the sixth series of AUSTRALIA’S NEXT TOP MODEL.

During the series, these finalists are transformed from attractive girls-next-door into potential working models, while navigating their way through various modelling assignments and tasks.  The girls must demonstrate both inner and outer beauty as they learn to master complicated catwalks, intense physical fitness, fashion photo shoots and perfect publicity skills.

Sarah leads the panel of judges including fashion designer Alex Perry, fashion identity Charlotte Dawson and fashion photographer Jez Smith.  Each week, the judges assess task performance and potential to narrow the field until only two remain.  The winner is announced during a live finale at Sydney’s Luna Park.

Aside from the stress of learning the ropes of the business, the finalists also have to deal with the ups and downs of ‘model house’ life: all the tears, tantrums and high drama you’d expect when you put a group of competitive and hugely ambitious girls under one roof!

The winner of AUSTRALIA’S NEXT TOP MODEL takes home a prize package including representation by Australia’s premiere modeling agency Priscilla’s; a $25,000 contract to appear in a campaign to be the face of iconic jeans brand Levi’s; a trip to New York to meet with one of the world’s top agencies, ELITE New York; a stunning Ford Fiesta Zetec; $20,000 cash thanks to Platinum from U by Kotex; and an eight-page spread for the fashion bible, Harpers Bazaar Australia.

AUSTRALIA’S NEXT TOP MODEL is produced by Granada Productions for FOXTEL, and is subscription television’s most successful series.
