Boat Song
As soon as the girls found out they would be shooting on a boat they started singing the catchy song "I'm on a boat man" taking turns rapping the verses and joining forces for the chorus.. Pretty funny stuff!
Rum Diaries
It was Kathryn’s 21st birthday and the girls took her out to the private room at a very cute restaurant/bar called Rum Diaries. After copious amounts of food and several jugs of rum a waiter bearing a striking resemblance to Johnny Depp came into the room and asked a couple of the girls to stand. He then showed them that the wall of books and trinkets they'd been leaning against flipped open to reveal a secret room.. The handsome waiter disappeared behind the bookcase and returned soon after with a birthday cake and armful of bottles of which the contents was "top secret!" he then turned the lights off and after a chorus of 'happy birthday' he proceeded to make a special cocktail using secret rum, large glasses and a lighter. The drink mixing looked more like a fire works display as he poured flaming liquid every which way.. The girls were most impressed and not just by the drink.. Amanda celebrated by doing her best Jack Sparrow impersonation.
When the ladies arrived home from dinner Kathryn found a bunch of flowers had been delivered from her parents with a helium balloon numbered 21. The other girls were all rummed out and went straight to bed but Kathryn didn't want the night ton end so she stayed up for another half hour eating her birthday mud cake by herself.
Sunny Catwalk Practice
It was a beautiful sunny day and Amanda decided to practice her walk outside on the deck. She had been told that she needs to cross her legs over to achieve a more feminine walk. Amanda had a bright idea and borrowed some gaffer tape from the camera crew and made a big black line the length of the deck. The line gave her a guide to cross her feet over and really seemed to help.
A few of the other girls joined in and as usual it wasn’t long before things became silly. One of the "arty" decorations on the deck was a black rubber sunbed in the shape of a man. Kelsey thought it would be funny to prop the sunbed up and stand behind and pretend that it was catwalk too.. This amused the others no end!
The Wet Fish
We know that Joanna’s parting gift to the girls was a wet fish which she thoughtfully left in Amanda’s bed but what you didn't see on TV was where the fish ended up... The girls were so moved by the funny joke that they named him Bruce and decided he needed a proper send off. The models all assembled pool side and while holding Bruce up in an oven tray they took turns delivering heart felt eulogies. After the speeches were complete Bruce was flung over the fence toward his final resting place in the "bosom of the pacific ocean". It was an emotional exit and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. The models took comfort in the fact that "at least Bruce is where he would've wanted to be".
Sophie’s Sweaty Nose
Throughout the series Sophie has had an ongoing problem with an unusually sweaty nose. She has worked out that the symptoms are most severe when she is cold or when she eats salt and vinegar chips. This would cause her nose to instantly develop hundreds of tiny sweat droplets. The bizarre disorder really affected her time in the competition in many ways. At photo shoots she would always need to have her nose re powdered several times and the worst time of all was during the filming of elimination. Because the room is so big and cold, poor Soph;s nose would leak constantly and made her very self conscious. She would stand on the podium and constantly pat dry her nose with her fingers which would annoy the director because they could not use any shots of Soph touching her wet nose!
Soph had tried everything from tissues to hairdryers but could not keep her nose dry so as a last resort she used a payphone near elimination and called 'Dr Karl' on the radio who was also baffled by the symptoms and offered no solutions. After weeks of anguish a clever crew member suggest she try anti perspirant deodorant. She closed her eyes and sprayed her nose and it's been dry ever since!
