Will Chris be the next Cricket Superstar?
Skill: All Rounder
Growing up in Oakford, Perth, Chris started playing cricket at just five years of age at a club his parents started up for Forrestdale Junior Cricket Club. He went on to play district cricket at Willeton Cricket Club for the next four years. From the age of nine to 13, while still at Willeton, Chris played for both the under-13s and the senior team alongside his dad. Over the following years, Chris played at a number of different cricket clubs, including four years playing junior district cricket at Freemantle Cricket Club. He moved to their senior team at 17 where he remains today. The highlight of his career was when he was selected for the WA under-19s team. Chris’ hero is Shane Warne, and his favourite cricket moment is seeing Glen McGrath’s hattrick at the WACA against the West Indies, which included his 300th Test wicket. Chris has had a range of jobs, including tyre fitter, removalist and as a cook for a British sausage company. He currently works at Courtside Multisports, an indoor sports centre in Canning Vale. Growing up, Chris also played AFL but has since become a “full time sun chaser” and hasn’t seen a winter in four years. In his spare time he loves body boarding, fishing and snorkeling.
