Born in WA, Jake grew up in the Perth suburb of Mullaloo.  A keen sportsman, Jake started playing cricket at the age of 8 and immediately fell in love with the game. A promising junior player with the Wanneroo District Cricket Club, Jake was part of the states U15s, U17s and U19s programs, and scored four centuries in four seasons of A-grade cricket.  His geatest cricketing achievement was in 2009 when he was selected from outside the state squad to make his debut in a one day domestic cricket match for WA at the Gabba.  Shortly after, in 2010 he was awarded a coveted rookie state contract with the WA Cricket Association.  In 2011 Jake made the move from his hometown of Perth to Adelaide after being picked up by the Glenelg District Cricket Club and the first ever Emerging Redbacks squad.  Jake’s cricket hero is Mike Hussey.  When he isn’t playing cricket, Jake is a self-confessed social media nut, with over 1600 friends on facebook, and a healthy following on twitter.  Jake currently works as a personal trainer.
