Will Jake S be the next Cricket Superstar?
Hometown: Central Coast
Despite being the youngest of the final 15 contestants, Jake is already a highly accomplished cricketer who started playing at the age of four. Jake has played at Wyong Cricket Club his whole life – first in the MILO entry level program, before moving into Wyong’s Junior Cricket Club and working his way through the age groups. In 2009 Jake was selected for NSW’s under-15s team. The following year, he got his first taste of international competition when he was named captain of the Australian under-16s cricket side after captaining NSW to victory at the national titles. Jake still plays at Wyong Cricket Club, and has just been selected for the NSW under-17s team. Growing up, Jake also played rugby league during the winter months. He comes from a sporty family, and his mother represented Australia in Trampolining. Jake’s hero is Michael Clarke. He says his biggest decision in life so far was deciding to give up his electrician apprenticeship to focus on cricket – one he doesn’t regret. Jake is currently a Cricket Promotions Officer for Cricket NSW.
