Lee Furlong - Host
Having established herself as one of the leading female sports presenters in the country, Lee Furlong has recently expanded her television career to include hosting a number of primetime entertainment shows on FOXTEL’s flagship channel, FOX8. She is now one of FOXTEL’s most recognised female personalities.
After completing a Bachelor of Communications in Journalism from Wollongong University, Lee’s first foray into television was presenting a nutrition and fitness segment on the Network Ten program ‘Seriously AFL’ – working with consultants from the Sydney Swans Football Club for a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to be a professional AFL player.
In 2005 Lee hosted ‘The Sexiest Man in League’ competition, shown weekly on Ten’s Sports Tonight.
Lee has been a key member of the Fox Sports News team since its launch in 2006. She has also taken on several hosting roles for Fox Sports including the Sports Australia Hall of Fame Awards.
From 2009 Lee co-hosted the second and third series of FOX8’s hit sports reality series FOOTBALL SUPERSTAR, alongside Brian McFadden (2009) and Kris Smith (2010).
In late 2010 Lee signed a contract with FOXTEL which would see her hosting a range of shows and specials. In July this year she co-hosted subscription television’s top awards night, the 2011 ASTRA Awards, alongside Tara Moss and Helen Dalley.
Her latest project is as the sole host of CRICKET SUPERSTAR, a new sports reality show (and offshoot of FOOTBALL SUPERSTAR) that will air on FOX8 in early 2012.
Lee is Cricket Australia’s female ambassador, and a friend of the McGrath foundation. In June 2010 Lee married Australian cricketer and Allan Border medalist Shane Watson.
