Rachel Bilson stars as the stylish and smart Zoe Hart in the new series Hart of Dixie, a fish-out-of-water story about a New York City doctor adjusting to life in a small Southern town after she inherits a local medical practice.
Bilson is perhaps best known for her series regular role as Summer Roberts on the very popular television show The O.C., which she starred in for four seasons. Through her role, Bilson became an integral part of pop culture.
Bilson is currently enjoying a successful and continually developing acting career on both big and small screens. In addition to her new television series, she recently wrapped the independent film L!fe Happens, with Kate Bosworth, as well as the independent comedy The To Do List, opposite Bill Hader and her Hart of Dixie co-star Scott Porter. Other film credits include the female leads in Waiting for Forever, Jumper, The Last Kiss, with Zach Braff and directed by Tony Goldwyn, and a starring role opposite Andy Garcia in a film comprised of a series of shorts called New York, I Love You. Bilson has additionally appeared twice as a guest star on the television series How I Met Your Mother and Chuck. She also had guest-starring roles on television series such as That ’70s Show, MADtv, 8 Simple Rules and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
In 2008, Bilson released her own clothing line called Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans. Bilson also designed a line of houseware products for Macy’s called Edie Rose Home, which is currently in stores.
Bilson currently lives in Los Angeles, which is where she was raised.
