Express from the US, MONDAYS and TUESDAYS at 9:15pm, on Foxtel’s FOX8.
Fans take note, the American Idol finale will air LIVE on Main Event, Tuesday 22 May at 11am (AEST). As usual, FOX8 will broadcast this episode at 9:15pm (AEST) on the same day.
In this week’s episodes our charismatic judges, international pop superstar Katy Perry, country music sensation Luke Bryan and music industry legend Lionel Richie begin their search in the big apple, New York City, then head to Los Angeles where dreams are made, moving on to the birthplace of jazz itself, New Orleans, and to Savannah, Georgia, to find the next big singing sensation with star power.
Already proving to have electrifying chemistry and a playful nature as a judging panel, Katy, Lionel and Luke have unanimously said yes to a string of talented singers, showing that the talent pool in America is well and truly overflowing. Idol hopefuls, including a shoe salesman from Washington D.C., a construction worker from Southern California and a student from Louisiana, sang their hearts out for the judges to see if they have what it takes to earn a ticket to Hollywood.
It’s not only the gifted voices that are blowing the judges away; they are also truly touched by their stories, so much so, Katy Perry breaks down in tears as she connects with contestants. The Idol journey is an emotional roller coaster and award-winning host Ryan Seacrest is once again at the forefront to console or celebrate with Idol hopefuls and their families depending on the outcome.
