Milan was the most beautiful place. We only had a few days to really take it all in but wow even in those days we saw such breathtaking places. I have never been to Europe before so I didn’t have any idea what to expect. It is far, far away from Australia and it is so hot!! We walked the streets of Milan with huge smiles on our faces taking in the music, the people, the architecture, the coffee, the cobblestones roads, the food, and most importantly the fashion. Everything was so perfect and so overwhelming (I almost cried at how beautiful it was). Milan showed such a unique style of life, which I now want to experience even more.
In Milan I also experienced my first castings. One with Gaia Trussadi and another with Andrea Popillini, both top designers in Milan. Although they were both challenging in their different ways, it’s was an experience I was eternally grateful for because I have learnt so much in such little time about what castings are, what to do in a casting, why they are important etc. At the end of the day Megan and Sovario gave Sabine, Linnea, Daisy and I great feedback on how to improve and what they liked about how we went in the casting and to my absolute surprise I won the challenge which means I was allowed double time for my photo shoot, which I am so grateful for.
Our last day in Milan was one of the best days being on this show. Our photo shoot was to be a strong, beautiful, Milan women, which I really enjoyed because of the incredible designers we got to wear (Gucci, Prada, Fendi etc), the amazing photographer, the stylist, the location, just everything was absolutely perfect. I was also given a very generous gift from the designers, which was a beautiful bag and a silk scarf, I just couldn’t believe it. I was first to shoot and I had a great time, although it was hot and in a public place, I learnt so much and I think I really want to do simple editorial shoots more often. All the girls had fun also and at the end of the day we got to do a group photo shoot walking down the street next to the canal. That was probably my favourite part of the day because I felt like we were truly a family and we could just forget about all the troubles and worries of the competition and just have fun. The rest of the night we had, yet again, a delicious Italian meal and just enjoyed the atmosphere of Milan and each other’s company.
Milan was an outstanding experience. I still can’t believe I was so lucky to be able to go to such a breathtaking place. I have learnt so much about so many things. And I will never forget these few fantastic days.
