Last Man Standing – Vanessa Baxter is a geologist, dedicated wife, loving mother and grandmother, after returning to work she in no time at all, receives a promotion. Initially this doesn’t go down too well with Mike as she now has less time for the family, less patience for any of their problems that may arise, and no patience for Mike’s “solutions” that he brings to the table.

Nancy Travis has enjoyed a successful stream of acting work through television, independent films as well as commercial films. Born in New York, Nancy grew up in both Baltimore and Boston.
Travis has appeared on the small screen prior to Last Man standing in Becker with Ted Danson and Almost Perfect; independent films have included The Submarine Kid and Married Young, while additional film credits include The Jane Austin Book Club, Internal Affairs, Air America, So I Married an Axe Murderer, and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
Returning to New York, Nancy studied drama at New York University. This gave her a great background in theatre before joining the national touring company of Neil Simon’s successful play, Brighton Beach Memoirs. Other theatre productions of Nancy’s include Broadway’s I’m Not Rappaport and Athol Fugard’s My Children, My Africa.
